Taku Sakashta, 43, of Sakashta Guitars was found slain with multiple stab wounds near his workshop at Rohnert Park, CA on February 12th.
Sakashta, a Japanese native, was known for his exquisitely hand-crafted guitars and custom-wound pickups. Robben Ford, most notably, has been using a black Sakashta 'Noupaul' extensively and featured the instrument on the cover of his 2007 Truth album.
Bill Krinard of Two-Rock Amplification, Sakashta's neighbour in Rohnert Park said, "The whole world will suffer a little bit. Definitely some of the finest guitars in the world."
Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the killing.
