Pan, from what I know Scott suddenly left Chick's band and Jamie Glaser was brought in at the last minute. Carlos Rios also pulled off some really nice solos on the first Elektrik Band record. Carlos is really underrated as a fusion player. I sat in on Scott's open counselling class at GIT once and there were quite few guitar players in that class that sounded just like him! Osmosis I guess.

Cool review and nice read ,finally the man hit our shores, the last time when Chick corea electric band came in the 80's , I was dissapointed that Jamie Glasser was the axeman instead of him. Still miss those fusion melodic solos he did on the tribal tech period and before but it seems after he played with Zawinul syndicate , his musical direction changed somewhat, anyway theres a legion of guitar players sounding like him in the fusion guitar world and he has moved on , like a torch bearer leading the pack. From his website , tribal tech is scheduled for a reunion next year, that must be interesting to see what comes out of it.His interpretation of Black market by weather report and Red Baron - billy cobham was one of the highlights for me and his tone , what can I say. anybody has any idea what effect was he using twiddling his feet to get some kind of filter effect ?

JP, Thanks! Scott's such a nice guy. Although he was pretty exhausted he still took the time to talk to everybody that shook his hand. The Players album is great -- I have it stowed away somewhere too.

AWESOME!!! Go Clinton! Hangin' with Scott Henderson! Yeah I have those old Jeff Berlin albums on vinyl-- Vox Humana and Pump It! They also played together on an album called "Players" with T. Lavitz and Steve Smith, which was the first time I heard Scott. Chambers and Berlin are absolute monsters!
